INTERMEDIATE URBAN DESIGNER
SITELAB urban studio is looking for urban designers at all levels to join our San Francisco office. Our ideal candidates have experience working on strategic design projects, as well as an ability to communicate clearly through visual language (diagrams, models, maps, and sketches). We are small, fast-paced office — we look for designers that are curious, engaged, ready for a challenge, and have a sense of humor. You’ll learn a lot and have great opportunities for growth.
Candidates must have a master’s degree in urban design, architecture, or landscape architecture and a minimum of two years working in a design capacity. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Rhino, rendering, and Excel is required. Project management skills and experience with additional software such as Revit, SketchUp, Enscape and GIS are a great plus.
Current projects range from leading the urban design for Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, the Pier 70 waterfront redevelopment in San Francisco to designing an open-source toolkit for homeless services non-profit, Lava Mae. Clients include large private developers, cities and counties, non-profits and community groups. We work closely with architects and landscape architects, including Grimshaw Architects, BIG, KPF, West 8, Field Operations, and CMG.
