Abigail DeVore
Urban Designer
Abby is passionate about being an active participant in communities through empathetic and critical approaches to architecture and urban design. She is interested in the intersections of architecture, urban design, and policy, where designers play a role in building platforms for people to create the future of their communities. She brings an architecture background to SITELAB supporting the development of adaptation strategies to build a more resilient San Francisco waterfront, reimagining a uniquely situated historic arts campus in Oakland, and supporting planning efforts for a walkable, people-first city in Solano County.
Abby graduated from California Polytechnic State University SLO studying architecture with an emphasis in women and gender intersections. She spent a year in Florence, Italy studying Italian culture, arts, politics, and language. Her undergraduate thesis focused on reimagining the way that we initiate and participate in the process of design utilizing a more tool-based and co-created approach.
