Urban Designer
SITELAB urban studio is looking for an urban designer to join our San Francisco team. Our ideal candidate will have experience working on urban design projects in the US, with an ability to weave together pragmatism and vision.
Candidates must have a master’s degree in Urban Design, Planning, Architecture or Landscape Architecture, and a minimum of 1-5 years post-graduate relevant experience. We are also willing to consider candidates with a bachelor's degree in an above field and relevant working experience equal to that of a graduate degree and post graduate experience.
Experience should include proactively initiating design processes, technical workflows, as well as clear and compelling graphic visualizations. Based on current project needs, desired experience includes; GIS analysis, site planning, massing and feasibility studies, maintaining yield tables, infographics representing data, navigating building and planning codes, developing design guidelines, studying facade articulation, and actively participating in design workshops.
We are looking for a tech forward early adaptor that has fluency in AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, Adobe Creative Suite, and Excel. Encouraged but not required; familiarity with Grasshopper and/or advanced modeling tools and rendering capabilities. Candidates with more experience, or who have applicable alternative experience are still encouraged to apply.
Base salary range is approximately $75k-$90k DOE + full benefits as well as bonuses based on individual and firm performance. This role is a hybrid position with a minimum of Mondays and Thursdays in office in downtown San Francisco.
Urban Design Intern
SITELAB urban studio is looking for a 2026 summer urban design intern to join our San Francisco team. Our ideal candidates have an ability to communicate clearly through visual language (diagrams, models, maps, and sketches). You’ll learn a lot and have great opportunities for growth.
Candidates must be enrolled in or recent graduates of a university graduate degree program in Urban Design, City Planning, Architecture, or Landscape Architecture. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Excel are required. Experience with additional software such as GIS, After Effects, or Lumion is a great plus.
Compensation is $25/ hr. This role is a hybrid position with a minimum of Mondays and Thursdays in office in downtown San Francisco. Ideal timing is full time between June- September with the option to go full time if the opportunity arises. Come join our growing team!
