Alyssa Garcia is an urban designer with over a decade of experience designing public places that are nimble and deeply grounded in stories. Inspired by spaces that are joyful and just, the core of her design process is a commitment to discovering the power of place and leading with curiosity.

With depth in technical design and a thoughtful visual style that fosters storytelling, Alyssa’s work has built consensus across some of SITELABs largest projects such as Downtown West, San José and Pier 70, San Francisco.

Her work ranges from leading the award-winning master plan entitlements for Stonestown Mall, transforming 30 acres of underutilized surface parking lots into an integrated mixed-use town center, to a 4-mile bench along Market Street, a proposed gesture of public belonging along one of the city’s vital civic spines. She is currently leading a strategic partnership with the SFMTA to assess its city-wide portfolio, unlocking joint development opportunities to transform underutilized bus yards, garages, and parking lots.

Alyssa received her Master’s in Urban Design from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Design and Bachelor’s of Science in Landscape Architecture from the Ohio State University.
